Our international network enables us to transport your sea freight shipment from and to almost anywhere in the world. DL organises forwarding of sea freight, functioning as a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC).
Various types of sea transport
We can serve our customers in various ways:
- LCL (Less than container load) for both imports and exports.
- FCL (Full container load) for both imports and exports.
- LCL – FCL: consolidation according to the wishes of the customer, sending cargo as a ‘buyers console’.
- FCL – LCL: load up where required and deliver to various recipients in the destination country.
Reliable updates on your shipment
DL maintains good contacts with shipowners. This and the commitment shown by the people who organise sea freight ensure that DL’s customers receive the best possible information. This is the difference between DL and other companies. DL keeps you up to date on the whereabouts of your shipment, responding speedily if there are any changes or new requirements. You can rely on our being fully proactive. We, the logistics professionals, relieve you of your concerns.
Favourable rates for transport from Far East
As well as organising FCL and LCL shipments, DL does its own consolidation, especially from large ports in the Far East (southern, eastern and south-eastern Asia). Using our own containers, we offer secure transport at LCL shipment rates.
Ever thought of combining sea and air freight?
In addition to sea freight, DL has sea/air services to many countries. The sea/air service combines the best of air and sea freight. If your deadline is not going to be met using sea freight, the sea/air solution may be the answer; shorter transit times than for the sea option, and the costs are less than they would be with the air service. By offering the sea/air service, DL helps you to meet your deadlines as efficiently as possible.
Sea transport of dangerous or conditioned goods
DL is also the best choice for forwarding special goods such as dangerous cargoes and perishables by sea.
